- ‘Roasted’ means that our nuts have been roasted in oil. At Royal Nut Company, we only use golden canola oil to produce the highest quality roasted nuts.
- ‘Dry Roasted’ nuts are roasted in our state-of-the-art oven roaster. No oils are added in this process.
The best way to store nuts is in the refrigerator or freezer in air-tight containers or zip-lock bags. Nuts do not freeze, and you can portion them to the required quantities. You can store them for up to 12 months in this manner. You will find that they remain as fresh and crunchy as on the day you bought them! Just make sure to bring them back to room temperature before serving.
This is due to the fact that Australia is a high-cost country, and that the agricultural industry is a labour-intensive one. Therefore, local products tend to be more expensive than in other countries where labour and production costs are not as high. However due to Australia’s stringent control standards, you can be assured that Australian products always deliver in terms of quality. Our first preference is for Australian produce. Approximately 50% of all our nuts are sourced from within Australia.
Royal Nut Company supplies to everyday people from all parts of the world. So we source products from over 80 countries to reach the varying needs of all our valued customers.
Australia prides itself in being a vibrantly multi-cultural society, made up of people from all parts of the world. By sourcing exotic and hard-to-get produce from all over the globe, we are able to supply our customers from various backgrounds. Not only that, but we are also able to support the requirements of the dynamic, culturally-diverse multi-cuisine restaurant, catering and food industry in Australia, which is world-renowned and an important factor in the USP of Melbourne, Sydney and other metros as a tourist destination.
Sulphur dioxide, also known as preservative 220, is used as preservative to preserve the colour of dried fruit. In Australia the maximum permitted limit of sulphur is 3000mg/kg.
Sulphur dioxide in itself, being an approved food preservative, is not harmful in any way, UNLESS YOU ARE ALLERGIC OR SENSITIVE TO SULPHITE. In this case, we recommend that you opt for organic or natural varieties.
At Royal Nut Company, we ensure that the sulphur dioxide in our products does not exceed the maximum permitted limit according to Australian standards.
Dried fruit, like fresh fruit, undergoes a natural ageing process over a period of time. This may be due to various factors like temperature, humidity, storage and so on. Dried fruit which has darkened is still safe for consumption. We recommend storing all dried fruit in air-tight containers in the fridge for long-lasting freshness, colour and texture.
All nuts are healthy for you. They contain good fat. Dry roasted nuts are healthier than oil roasted ones. There isn’t much different between dry roasted nuts and raw nuts.
First of all, cooking grades are 10 – 20% cheaper than the normal ones. They are usually dark in colour, chipped or smaller in sizes and not properly graded.
You must soak all the beans and legumes. Soaking helps to make beans tender and cook faster. It also helps to remove any foreign matter. More importantly, soaking helps to remove any gases from the beans. As you may have noticed, when beans are soaked overnight, you will find a white frothy substance and bubbles on the surface the next morning. Discard this water, and rinse thoroughly before cooking.
Nearly all nuts, raw or roasted, contain healthy fats that work in your body to reduce bad cholesterol levels.
Your order is freshly roasted at the time of purchase, never before, ensuring maximum freshness. We must be mindful that nuts and fruits are grown once a year. The produce are fresher at the start of the season. They might lose some flavour and colour as they approach the end of the season.
To keep your nutty goodies in the best condition, store them in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer. Concerned about expiry?
